The current state of the global economy is causing workforce disruptions and leading to widespread burnout across various departments and demographics. To address this, business leaders are turning to AI-powered automation as a solution. This technology enables employees to be more productive by eliminating mundane tasks, allowing them to focus on more meaningful work. Additionally, AI-powered automation empowers workers to easily access and analyze data, respond to customer inquiries more efficiently, and streamline time-consuming tasks.
As AI becomes more prevalent in the business world, a new generation of workers, known as the Automation Generation, has emerged. This generation includes individuals of all ages and backgrounds who embrace AI-powered automation to enhance collaboration, foster creativity, and boost productivity.
A recent survey conducted by UiPath, called the Automation Generation Survey, revealed that 65% of Indian workers reported taking on up to 25% more work in the last six months. This increased workload is felt across all age groups, with 50% of Indian Gen Z respondents and 56% of Indian Millennial respondents stating they have been asked to do more tasks. Even older generations, such as Gen X and Baby Boomers, are experiencing the strain. Burnout is more commonly reported among Millennials and Gen Z employees, with 34% of Gen Z and 41% of Millennials feeling burnt out.
To combat burnout, employees worldwide are seeking greater access to AI technologies that can help them manage their work and achieve a better work-life balance. In fact, 86% of respondents in the survey believe that AI-powered automation can streamline their work responsibilities and empower them to perform their jobs better.
Millennial and Gen Z workers are more likely to use business automation solutions and have a higher belief in the effectiveness of technology tools and software for improving their job performance and advancing their careers. Employers should take note of this trend, as 85% of Indian respondents view automation-using employers more favorably. The survey also found that 63% of all Indian respondents are already using AI-powered automation solutions at work, with 86% of them believing these solutions can address burnout and enhance job satisfaction.
By adopting an automation-first mindset and understanding the needs of the Automation Generation, employers can unlock higher employee potential, drive innovation, and create a more positive work environment. AI-powered automation enables employees to streamline workflows, leading to increased satisfaction, engagement, and productivity. This, in turn, makes organizations more profitable, flexible, and responsive.
As workloads continue to rise and employees seek work-life balance and technologies that support their success, AI-powered automation becomes essential in delivering satisfying and positive workplace experiences. The Automation Generation comprises professionals of different ages and backgrounds, across industries, who rely on AI technologies to enrich their work lives and prevent them from feeling like robots. Ultimately, AI-powered automation benefits both employees and organizations, resulting in a more fulfilling and successful work environment.
